Welcome Fall

Even though it is still hot, here in Texas, we enjoyed some time out in the backyard yesterday evening.  All of a sudden Libby loves the grass!  She even walks in it bare foot.  A couple of months ago she wouldn't even step in it with shoes on or without me holding her hand.  Do you see anything missing in the background? We sold the gazebo this weekend!  We have big plans for this yard.  It has already come a long way in six months but it is going to be a little retreat some day!  

Busy at the Splash Pad

A couple of weeks ago Lib and I met our playgroup at the splash pad.  This was our first time and unfortunately our last for the season.  I was a bad mom and only took her to one splash pad all summer before they closed them for Fall.  As soon as we got there Libby jumped in and started playing.  She didn't even really notice the other kids.  All she wanted was the "wawa" as she calls it.  She LOVED it!  Needless to say we will be visiting a lot more splash pads next summer!

Finger painting Fun

We ventured into the land of toddler arts and crafts the other day and I had Libby try finger painting for the first time.  She wasn't a huge fan in the beginning and would only put her finger tips in the paint.  As I added paint she kept wanting more and more squirted on the canvas.  She would get all mad if I didn't give her more!  She even tried squirting the paint herself a couple of times.  She got more comfortable with the paint being on her hands and eventually spread it all over.  I would have to say finger painting was a success and we'll have to do it again soon!
