X, Y, & Z

It's finished and finally up!  The ABC wall is complete.  For those of you familiar with Pinterest I first saw the idea there.  I started pinning multiple ABC walls to gather inspiration.  We didn't want it to be an expensive project, so it took a little longer than I expected.  We went to many Goodwill locations every week searching for letters we still needed.  We also went to craft stores, antique stores, garage sales, and found the last few in Tularosa from the old post office!.  It was really fun hunting for letters.  Once they were all gathered a few needed to be painted or deco-podged.  The most we spent for one letter was $8.50.  I think the command strips holding the letters up ended up being the most expensive part.  Overall, I am very pleased with the results!  This is a fun, new addition to Libby's playroom and something that can stay up for awhile.

Starting Summer off Right

It's only the beginning of June and Libby has already been busy this summer.

She's gone to the pool.

She's packed for a trip.

She's made some music.

She's done some cleaning.  Doesn't she looked thrilled in this first picture?!

She's played with friends.

She's climbed the stairs.

She's gone to the park.

She's gone to the beach.

She's gone to brunch.

And of course snuggled with her blankie.

Hard life kiddo, hard life!!

Music Class

Every Friday Libby and I have been going to a music class at Heartsong Music.  Her teacher is Miss Vanessa and she is wonderful, very patient, down-to-earth, and you can tell she loves what she does!  When we registered we got two copies of a cd of songs to work on throughout the session.  We listen to ours in the car ALL the time, especially when a certain little someone starts to get restless or cranky!  The songs on the cd are the same songs we sing and dance to in class.  The class teaches music and movement.  We do chants, sing songs, play instruments, dance, etc.  Libby has enjoyed it since day one!  She gets so excited when we are walking up to the building and she can see kiddos in the window!  She kinda squeals in delight!  The Spring session just ended, but we liked it so much we decided to sign Libby up for the Summer session.

Um, not sure why the hand is in the mouth.  Miss Vanessa & Libby
Listening to the "Hello" song.
Dancing with the bells.
"Hum, which instrument should I play?"  Btw, she can never decide.  She likes all of them.
(The orange is a shaker).
Clean up time.  She cried the first week when she had to put the instruments away!
Now she likes doing it and says, "Done."

Kiddie Acres

Last week Libby and I had a meetup at Kiddie Acres Amusement Park not far from our house. It's an amusement park for kids 10 years and under. The park is small, but it was just right for Libby Lou. It's also kinda beat up, but that didn't stop us from having a lot of fun! We rode all of the rides which included cars, planes, boats, a carousel, a ferris wheel, pony rides and a train around the park.  They were all mini-versions, so Libby was able to ride a lot of them on her own. It was hot out so her cheeks got really flushed!  And don't let all of the serious faces fool you, she was having a good time (expect on the pony ride!).
